Steve Hammond is a pastor and Christian fiction author in Newport, NH. Summers at his family’s cottage in Bailey Island, ME, with dozens of cousins and a neighbor fisherman’s family, inspired the premise of the Rock Johnson tales. In 1984, he wrote the first Rock Johnson story and introduced it while teaching a Sunday School class. Decades later, he penned all the subsequent stories while in New Hampshire.
